Stella's; Havana

At Stella's on Commercial Drive, I ate a bocconcini salad. You can't go wrong with tomatoes and bocconcini cheese, even when they're smothered in pickled onions.

I also ate these wonderful Marinier mussels (with garlic, shallots, white wine, fresh herbs, monte au beurre). WONDERFUL.

We moved across the street to Havana for dessert and drinks. It was Italian Day on the Drive, so buckets of Peroni were on special.

We ordered all three of their desserts. My favourite was the Grand Marnier crème brûlée; the white chocolate cheesecake pictured above was a close second. Right now for every dessert you buy at Havana, they donate one dollar to the Vancouver Fringe Festival. Supporting the arts has never been so sweet.
