Burgoo

Sunday night it really started to feel like winter, stepping in from the crisp night air to the rustic and cozy Burgoo on Main Street for some equally rustic comfort food.

We started with the Guinness Stout & White Cheddar Fondue, which comes with grapes, crusty bread and apple pieces, and grape tomatoes. There are two other fondues on the menu -- Gruyere & Emmenthal, and Brie with Garlic & Honey. Between these three, I think I could be okay with eating Burgoo fondue every night for the rest of the winter.

Next we shared the Lamb Tagine, subtly, or, 'wimpily' spiced as Meesoo put it, served with vegetables, apricots and olives on a bed of couscous.

We finished with a dessert from the seasonal menu: Sweet Sweet Potato & Ginger Cake -- a dense cake topped with brown sugar glaze and served with vanilla ice cream.
