Bread!; The Foundation; Gene Café


Baking bread is a good way to get exercise. I definitely worked up a sweat kneading the dough this morning. I used about 4 cups of flour, two cups of water and a packet of yeast.


According to my instructor, one must, using as little flour as possible, work the dough into a baby's bottom-like texture. This takes time, strength and energy. You have to work quickly to maintain the smoothness and keep it from sticking to your hands. It's the perfect morning workout.


Later: The last of the vegan lady-dates at The Foundation, followed by Americanos at Gene, the café wedged between Main and Kingsway.
